David Birchall

David has been a corporate and commercial lawyer for 30 years, with 20 years as a Partner in international London based law firms. His main focus in that time was in cross border green and conventional energy and commodities trading.

A Wigan shareholder from the age of 12, his earliest direct contact with the international game was asking for Chris Anderson's top after running on the pitch at Leigh during the legendary 1982 Kangaroos' tour (Chris instead gave him his sock tie up). He has been a season ticket holder at the London Broncos and Wigan for decades. Aside from the peerless Ellery Hanley, his favourite international player is Mark Graham, for single handedly taking on the Aussies in the 80s, and his favourite game was Tonga's victory over Australia 2019.

David has been involved in various London charities since 1990, and is currently the Chairman of a major north London youth charity.
